During this session, we will walk thru the process of creating a data model in Power BI Desktop and publishing it to the Power BI Service and SharePoint Online.
Topics include:
- Using the Query language “M” to ingest and shape data from different sources
- Creating relationships among data tables in the data model to allow cross filtering
- Creating calculations using the “DAX” language to enhance the data model
- Creating visualizations of the data (including slicers & filters)
- Discussion of Row Level Security considerations
- Publishing the data model to PowerBI.com service (to allow collaboration)
- Discussion of how a published model can be further published to SharePoint Online.
