But my question is...

In the post, the person mentions that in order to access the report, the user must appear in the 'permission'  of the dataset... (nto sure why the post doesn't mention permissions on the report?!)

For my specific case: I know users that do have access; that are neither in the permissions of the dataset nor the report permission section, how is this possible?

Hello @ovonel 

You mean to say is that the user is able to see the data or the report without the user being in the permission tab of the dataset?  if yes than he must have been an admin or has the rights to access the dataset!

The post doesn't mention anything about the permissions in the report because we don't require any permission in the desktop version to view the data unless we specifically use the view feature.
