# symbol is dissapearing after saving a Query in Power BI Service

Queries in dataflows preceded by a # in their name are getting that symbol removed after I hit 'Save & Close' in Power BI Service UI.

Is this a known issue or something by default?

Hi there

In the Advanced Editor it will show it with the # because this is how the underlying code is written when steps are added via the GUI

Hi @Jotad710 ,

I also agree with @GilbertQ , maybe your naming method does not conform to the rules of Power Query
Is it convenient for you to show relevant screenshots?

Best regards,
Lionel Chen

I can't share screenshots sorry, but I'm not having issues with it, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a known bug. One more question, in the 'Advanced Editor', it still shows the query's original name (with the # symbol)

why is that?

Thanks! 🙂

Hi there

I know that it is a reserved character in Power Query so that might be why it is being removed?

Is it causing any issues?
