refresh report in workspace

Hi,

I designed a report in Desktop and published it to my workspace. To use the report, it's showen fullscreen on a touchscreen monitor.

The dataset has a scheduled refresh three times a day. But, to see the fresh data visualized we need to refresh the report manually...

Is this a wellkown problem or I'm doing something wrong? In what way i can have an automatic updated report?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @JohanBrink

Please read Data refresh in Power BI to know more.

Please let me know more details about your situation so that i can give more sufficient suggestion.

Which is your data sources? Online or On-premises?

Do you connect the datasource to On-premises Gateway and configure schedule refresh?

Best Regards

Maggie

@v-juanli-msft,

Maggie, thanks for your help. I'll gonna read that stuff.

I'll get my data from online ERPsoftware.

Hi there

The reports will not auto update when just in the browser.

Ideally you would use a plug-in which will loop through the URLS which will allow it to reload the reports.

@GilbertQ

you mean a plugin in PowerBI services? Could you explain some more, because it should be very nice when reports auto update

Hi there

What I mean is if you use Google Chrome there is a plugin called Revolver, which can loop through a set of tabs. This means that each time the Tab is run it will reload the page, which will refresh the report page.

@GilbertQ. I tried Revolver, but it only walks through the open tabs. I didn't see a refreshment when opening a tab.

I tried Auto-Refresh (another plugin from Chrome). It refreshes the open tab, I should do more testing to see if it refreshes the report also. Thanks for your idea of using a refreshment plugin!

Hi there

What you could do, is to have the Revolver plug-in and then use the Chrome start up from a command prompt.

I know that in the Chrome Settings you can set what tabs you want open when you start Chrome. That will then allow you to always have those same tabs open and then Revolver will then refresh those open tabs?
