i wonder if it's possible to do following:
1. go to powerbi.com and select "Analyze in Excel" for a dataset
2. Connect with the downloaded ODC File to dataset and create excel pivot-table/chart
3. Publish the excel File to onedrive or sharepoint online
4. Work/Refresh the Excel File with Excel Online
I struggle at step 4 where Excel Online always throws error "failed on updating data" if i like to use a pivot-table slicer.... so it seems connecting to PBI-dataset from OneDrive/SharePoint files is not supported actually?
Any news on this feature ?
The odc file needs to authenticate against he server (power bi). It normally does this through Excel on the desktop. That is why you have to install new software before you can use this feature - because MS just invented it. My guess is that no such authentication exists from SharePoint online to Power BI.
yes, i think MSOLAP.7;Integrated Security=ClaimsToken is not supported at the moment hopefully that changes soon
any update on this?
