Hi, I work with EPM/CPM platforms and am trying to intergrate with PBI. I have it connected can can push to tables in the API Push Dataset.
What I'm not able to do though is then use/combine that API Push Dataset with my other data in my existing dataset.
I've been trying in a new dataset, I getdata from xlsx, and when I try getdata from PBI Dataset I get the live connection error... "The connect live option for this file is disabled because it already contains data from another data source. You cannot explore live data and connect to another typ...."
The one thing I found online here said I needed to 'enable export data' in the admin/tenant settings...but it was already enabled, so I enabled excel export (just in case) but still can't get it working.
Is what I'm trying to do possible (surely it is!), if so is there another step or setting I need to do?
Thanks
Brendan

hi @BI_Brendan
The problem is that you could not use Import and Live Connection in one report at the same time.
For Excel, you could use Import model in this report, then you could import another datasource or directquery a data, then you could shape data and modeling, etc.
But when you use live connection model, you are live conect to a complete data model, for this case, you couldn't modeling anymore. So you could use Liveconnection with Import/DirectQuery at the same time.

Thanks for the reply and the link. I was holding out hope that there was something I was missing, but it's not to be. Thanks.
