multiple enterprise gateway on one dataset

I have a created a report on the desktop version of PowerBI.  It contains data from two seperate databases which both have their own enterprise gateway.  I have other reports which use these two gateways on their own and they work fine.  The new report I have published has data (databases) from two enterprise gateways.  Once published I cannot connect to both gateways at the same time to keep the data refreshed.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this not possible

Hi @krisbainbridge,

I test the scenario as yours, when I add data sources for two separate SQL Server databases under two different enterprise gateway, I am not able to set schedule refresh for the dataset that contains data from the separate SQL Server databases because the option “Use a data gateway” is disabled. In this scenario, we can use personal gateway to set refresh.

In other words, if you want to use enterprise gateway to refresh your dataset, you would need to add data sources for two separate SQL Server databases under same enterprise gateway.

Thanks,

hi,

Can we create multiple gateways in a single tenant (means single power bi server).

Also, I am getting dmts_duplicatedatasourceerror while connecting to SAP app layer with different service accounts in a single gateway.

how can we solve this.

Thanks you.

Thanks, this sorted out my issue!
