Hi, we would like to use the Dynamics 365 connector in Power BI to see open production orders in realtime. However, I'm guessing the connector will only allow you to refresh it up to 8 times/day. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
My next thought then would be to set up something to sync the data to an on premise sql database table more frequently and to use DirectQuery in Power BI. Does anyone have suggestions on the best tools/approach to sync data from D365 to a database? ex. Power Apps, Logic Apps, etc. We'd need the data synced at least every 15 minutes and ideally D365 fires events to us when the data changes.
Anyone have any other suggested approaches to getting this data in realtime within Power BI? TIA!!
hi @lgroger
To my knowledge, dynamics 365 connector is not support direct query,
for power bi free and pro licence, you could set scheduled refresh up to 8 times/day, and if the dataset resides on a Premium capacity, you can schedule up to 48 refreshes per day in the dataset settings.

Hi @lgroger ,
This article talks about how to go about getting real-time data. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-real-time-streaming
You can do this with Dynamics data as well but you might want to think of the performance issues that you might cause on your D365 system if you are pulling data constantly.
