Hi,
I want to refresh my dataset in Power BI dynamically. I tried using parameters but it is not working. Also, I tried using function to get list of instance from the static table but still no luck.
It works fine from desktop but when i schedule it in power services it fails with
You can't schedule refresh for this dataset because the following data sources currently don't support refresh:
What I want to achieve is that user define the connection string and report connect to that connection string and show the data in report. I want query to run real time against the data source picked by the user.

Hi @HiraRaffia ,
You could complete it with Power Query Parameter and the dataset needs to be refreshed after the modification of the parameter. For more details, you could have a look at this official document: Dynamic M query parameters in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn and make some configurations by following it.
After that, you need the report dataset to be refreshed for the change of the data source. You could consider Power BI Automate Flow. Here are some references.
Trigger a cloud flow from any Power BI report - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn
Refresh your Power BI dataset using Microsoft Flow | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI
Trigger flows from Power BI reports | Power Automate-blog (microsoft.com)
