I created a Microsoft forms survey and a power automate flow to feed the MS forms data into my power bi report. However, I would like to download this power bi report to work on it thru power bi desktop instead of using the edit option in power bi service. Unfortunately, the download option is grayed out and when I create a new .pbix file, there's no option in "get data" for Microsoft forms.

nevermind, I figured it out. I found my online data set via "Get Data --> Power BI datasets"
Hi, @eddd83
Keep in mind: You can only download pbix files which are created in the desktop and published to service. So you can not download it as pbix file. I suggest you to get data from Power BI dataset in Power BI desktop, then you can connect live to the dataset and create your report in desktop.
This document explains how to do this in detail:

More limitations of downloading as pbix in service
