We have set up DNS entries for our on-prem SSAS tabular servers. The DNS entries work fine with Power BI desktop, ssms etc. However, I cannot set up a power bi gateway connection. I get the following error ( I changed the server name in the error below):
Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to Stg-XXX.XXX.ABCCORP.com. Details: "The connection to the Analysis Services instance timed out or was lost. Ensure that the server and the 'SQL Browser' service are running."Hide details

The on-prem gateway server (where the gateway is installed) can resolve the DNS entries via ping, and I can set up a power bi gateway connection either using the SSAS server name (that the dns name resolves to) or the SSAS server ip address.
