date format now showing Day name

Hi All,

My published reports are changing the date format to show the day month month number year e.g. Saturday October 01 2016

In Desktop they are set to Long date e.g 01 October 2016

How can I change this? As it is messing up my visuals by elongating the columns.

Any help, much appreciated.

Thanks for your response, that is exactly what I did. I had a play with the date format and discovered that if you choose the lower versions and not the top version Long and Short, that it worked the way I wanted it to.

Refreshing the report and checking the output each time.

Hi,

According to your description, you said that your date format is too long to mess up your visuals when published to the Power BI service.

I think you can simply solve this problem by changing the date format to the short type like “yyyy/mm/dd” in the Power BI Desktop and publish the report again the overwrite the original report, and the date format will be changed to the short type.
