data type in dataflow (PQ online) does not update when brought into the data model

We are pulling info from our ERP system using a dataflow (via API).    Our cost columns come in as decimal types.

I have changed in them in the dataflow editor to be currency type -  and I can see the column update so I know it has changed.   And I refresh the dataflow in the editor.

However, when I refresh my dataflow in the data model, it still brings in the data in that column as  decimal  (not a fixed decimal which is what it will become if you were to make that same change in the desktop PQ editor.

My intent is to make as many transformations in the online PQ environment as possible, rather than the desktop, but I just don't understand why the change is not showing up....so I still have to change the column type to fixed decimal in the PQ desktop anyways.

Am I missing something?

did you uncheck the option box in power bi desktop to auto determine data type?
