Withing Power BI creating a report from a published data source, can you pivot the matrix view to get values on row instead of the defaul values on column? The desired functionality is identical to using a pivot table and moving the 'values' from column to row. Unless I'm missing something I don't see how to do this within the web application.
It was not possible previously but now the Matrix in PowerBI allows you to group values in rows by going to format properties and looking for "show in rows" under Values
I can't do 1/4 of my reports because of this lacking feature.
I need to see values in Rows that are drillable/expandable to different levels with Months in columns. I can't figure out any visual that will give me this report.
The Matrix control in the Service is lacking some of the features of the Excel matrix control (like pivoting on columns). Hopefully all of the missing features will make it back into the service soon.
You can change fields from rows to columns in on a Matrix when Editing report
Hi...
But @konstantinos, the problem is: if you change '[Name]' from rows to columns, the measures [Value] and [Value2] always is in the columns...
I want show:
---------- NameA, NameB, NameC
Value 10 20 30
Value2 40 50 70
did you ever find a solution for this?
Not aware that you can do that in Power BI service, you can use Power Query and use the PIVOT or UNPIVOT functionality there.
