I have created a report which import data from a table of a MS SQL server via the Data Gateway and I have scheduled on a daily basis the refresh. Everything worked fine, but since July when I am trying to run the refresh of the data I am receiving the error message "The received uncompressed data on the gateway client has exceeded limit.". If I try to publish the same report from Power BI Desktop there is not an issue, everything works fine.
Looking at the site I found that there is a limitation of 10 GB uncompressed data which you can refresh through gateway but my table in SQL is approximately 6 GB.
Could you please inform me why this is happening?
Hi @chlisa01,
Please check below link to know more about this issue.
Data limit here is not related to model size. It is related to how much data is being transferred during refresh. There is a 10 GB limit on that. Users model can be 488 MB but if he is downloading more than 10 GB during refresh it will fail. Please provide RAID's if you want us to investigate new refresh failures. There is no data download limits in PBI desktop so it will be successful over there. For more information please see.

Error: The received uncompressed data on the gateway client has exceeded limit. The exact limitation is 10 GB of uncompressed data per table. If you are hitting this issue, there are good options to optimize and avoid the issue. In particular, reducing the use of highly repetitive, long string values and instead using a normalized key or removing the column (if not in use) will help.

Dear Xiaoxin,
The data that I try to refresh via the gateway is almost 9 GB. So i can't understand why it is failed as the limitation is 10 GB.

I'm also not very sure for this, perhaps you can try to contact power bi team for further support.
