Workbooks - All Excel Online Reports throw error when linked to PBI but not when accessed direct

we see a strange behaviour of www.powerbi.com app  on opening "linked" excel workbooks,

Suddenly, a few month ago, all excel files uploaded to PBI workspaces stopped working and throw now an error. this is also the case even for "empty" excelfiles (without dataconnections...).

Rendering still  works for existing and new uploaded excel files opened from their O365 Business Onedrive/SharePoint directly!
But if you use "get data">From files>Onedrive.." in powerbi.com to "link" the excel file it throws following error (show error by F12 in browser):

Cross-Origin Read Blocking (CORB) blocked cross-origin response https://euc-excel.officeapps.live.com/x/_layouts... with MOME type text/plan. See https://www.chromestatus.com/features/5629809024032768 for mor details

We tried with different browsers and machines, always with the same resulsts..so i assume that is a tenant-specific and not a browers-specific error? Anyone with same experience? Again, opening the excel workbooks directly from their origin location works without any issues in Excel Online

Hi @Anonymous,

By my test with "get data">From files>Onedrive/SharePoint>select the excel file>import/upload, everything works as expected.

Could you get the workbook in "My workspace" successfully?

Best Regards,

Cherry
