Wild card when passing parameters to the report URL

Hi

Some of the Power BI users I support at my work filter data by passing parameters to the report URL in Power BI Service, like

ReportURL?filter=TableName/ColumnName eq 'value'

What they want to do is to use a wild card or something that searches a certain character string within a given column.

I googled a little but seems that it has to be an exact match, wild card is not availablel for this.

Is there a way to use wild card in this method ?

Thanks !

Hi @Anonymous,

No. Currently, URL query string only supports filters with exact match. It is not possible to use a wild card. You could submit this feature request here to help improve our products.

HI,

My requirement is the value itself contain the wild charter ('&'), unfortunately this is also not allowed.

Any alternate options? Please suggest.

Thanks,
