Which parts of my model/dataset are the largest

Hi,

Is there a way to tell which parts of the model/dataset are the largest in terms of space? I've made some changes, including removing over a million rows from a 2 million row table, that I thought would add reduce the size of my PBIX but it has actually grown by 150 MB. I'd like to lnow which tables/queries to focus on to try and address this.

Thanks

Ian

Please use VertiPaq Analyzer to check size for each kind of object.

Regards,

Hi Simon,

Vertipaq looks like a good tip - if I can get it to work. I have followed the instructions in your link severasl times but always get errors when I try to refresh the Excel file with the data from my Power BI model. This happens despite the fact that the Test Connection works perfectly. The error, for all work items, is 'We couldn’t refresh the connection. Please go to existing connections and verify they connect to the file or server'. I think that a successful Testy Connection verifies that existing connections connect to the file or server, so I am stuck.

Thanks

Ian
