We are now switching from OData to ODBC data sources.
It appears, that with ODBC data source, when user clicks Refresh in Power BI report, underlying dataset is not refreshed - I can see it in the refresh history - no records are there for these refreshes.
With OData source, there was no such issue.
What could be the reason?
We have Gateway installed and I haven't limited user rights to refresh the report (just for the record - I tested with my user)
If I refresh from dataset view, then refresh works fine.

Hi @sandra_p,
refreshing a report does not refresh the underlying dataset. You'll first have to refresh the dataset for changes to show up.
Depending on the type of report refreshing a report could trigger a refresh to the datasource. In Direct Query mode the report doesn't have a dataset, so refreshing the report refreshes your visuals.
