When to Publish and when to refresh

Hi,

This is a very basic question.

I have made two visuals and two tables in powerbi desktop and published it and then embedded the code in a web app.

Now, i have added a few more visuals and tables in the desktop report.

How do i reflect the change in web app?

Should i need to republish it because refresh is not reflecting the change in powerbi service, in that case, will my embedded code change?

so what's the best practice?

Look forward to the advice.

Thanks,

Sami

Hi @samihuq ,

"Refresh" only refresh your data, you need to re-publish your new reports to service. Or you could add new visuals in service. When you finish to publish or save the report, your embedded code will show the newest content( you need to refresh the web page ).

Yes, you need to republish. Republishing is required if you change the data model or report. All refreshing does is update the data in the data model.
