Hi All,
Recently came across a scenario to implement Data Analytics in "Power BI embedded Gen 2" for one of client.
Read multiple articles but still has some questions on exaclty what it is.
I consider embedding Power BI reports/dashboards into third party client application as per this article.
Read about many features of 'PBI Emb Gen2' like auto-scalling etc, but:
1. Do we also need to have specific license for PBI Embedded Gen2? Which license is that?
2. Is "PBI Embedded Gen2" itself a license which can be purchased separately like Pro , PPU or Premium?
3. Does this talk about only infra/server related features like scalling/core? or it is having special features in Power BI desktop /service as well ?
4. What are the features only achievable using Power BI Emb Gen2?
5. How to set up Power BI Emb Gen2? any direction / steps / guide for the same?
6. Power BI Gen2, Power B Embedded Gen 2 and Power BI Premium Gen2 is same?
So basically I am confused what exacly it is. If anyone can help with microsoft or non-microsoft articles /videos which can define thins in simple manner?
Please help

in overral here u can find the main difference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded/power-bi-embedded-generation-2
for your specific questions in order:
1) no specific licence, its a pay as use capacity. here a table of pricing by capacity used in the solution: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/power-bi-embedded/
2) see link in answer 1, you assign the embeded solution a capacity and pay for what its consumed via azure
3-4) scaling its referred to the capacity in link in answer 1 for example if scaling its "on" if a solution in a given momment exceed the 100% of the resource assign from the table in question 1, let say it have assign A1, it will for the needed procesing time auto upgrape to A2 and when the demand goes down will descalate to A1 again.
