WebApp cannot refresh (but desktop can)

I can refresh in desktop, but the webapp gives the following error message:

Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987. Table: crf_by_site.

The file in question is an .xls file. The coworker who added this says it needs to be .xls and cannot be .csv.

The report was working fine before this. I made sure to update data source credentials.

(The file is stored on a SharePoint site...not sure if that matters)

What do I need to do so the webapp can refresh again?

RESOLVED,

Determined that the .xls file could be converted to .xlsx without issue.

PowerBI should handle this correctly.

Hi @CaThDe,

"The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. " As the error messagr, that should be the issue of

provider. Please install that or update it and try again. If it doesn't work, please recreate a new case in the forum Integrations with Files and Services.

Regards,

Frank

The part I am not getting is identifying the "local machine".

The machine I upload from had this problem until I ran the fix.

What is the "local machine" for the WebApp version of PowerBI?
