Web contents failed to get contents from Google sheet - Internal Service Error

Hi, this morning my Power BI refresh reschedules stop working for my Google Sheet and I can't even manually refresh my data.

It has been working for the whole time until this morning.

I've checked the file name, location and confirmed it's still the same and even try to connect to another Google sheet and it still had the same problem.

Please refer to the below snip for the error message

Hi @Anonymous ,

You may check if this is the issue published in the Power BI Support . As it's suggestion, you may need to make sure users are using the latest version of web browser .

>>Power BI rolled out enforcement of TLS 1.2 protocol for all encrypted connections in all regions. All modern web browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer 11) support TLS 1.2. Any customers having connection issues should ensure they are using the latest web browser of their choosing.

In addition, you may try to change the end of the data links used for the source data (export?format=xlsx) .

Old link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n9ai02Wh6ntSHt16kd0-jKD3EHJZINw9O9BfXCA/export?format=xlsx&i...

New working link

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n9ai02Wh6ntSHt16kd0-jKD3EHJZINw9O9BfXCA/export?format=xlsx

Best Regards,

Amy

Hi Amy,

Thank you for respoding and sorry for the late response.

I ended up contacting the customer support and got it fixed then.

Due to the update my URL had a new character added therefore it didn't work and I had  to manually remove that character.

Regarding your solution, I need my URL to have the =xlsx&id as this spreadsheet has senestive information and I can not publised the data therefore I can not change it to =xlsx.

However, I just want to say thank you so much for your time and assistance.

Regards,

Liz

Same here! Maybe Google changed something to prevent excess crawling or so...

@Anonymous :What I noticed in your link is the missing export in your URL, which I always needed to access the data properly

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zB...8/export?format=xlsx&id=148....

@Anonymous :Just found the solution for me by trial & error - once again it's in simplicity 🙂

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1z...8/export?format=xlsx

Just get rid of the gid suffix...

Hope it works for you too

BR,

Alex
