Hello, I am having an issue with the combining enterprise gateway and online data sources. 

I'm using SqlServe connected with a Datagateway and then Excels in SharePoint. The SQL connects ok, but the SharePoint no. 

This is the error massage:

Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to . Details: "We could not register this data source for any gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance."

I know the gateway is online and working and also that this architecture is possible, as you can see here.

Do you use the lastest on-premises gateway?

Please update your on-premises gateway to the lastest version. uninstall the eariler one and delete it, the install the lastest one.

Do you select Allow user's cloud data sources to refresh through this gateway cluster > Apply Under Gateway Cluster Settings?

Do you edit the cloud data source credentials Under Dataset settings->Data source credentials?

please select "OAUTH2".

If you merge columns from two diferent data sources in Power BI Desktop,

please set the Privacy settings on your Power BI desktop file to Always Ignore Privacy Level Settings.
