V1 Workspace without an Office 365 Group!?

Hey there.

I have a weird situation at hand that I’d like to get a second opinion.

Can one have a “Group” type #PowerBI workspace, without an Office365 Group associated with it??

I did a (Get-PowerBIWorkspace -scope “Organization” -All) via Power BI Mgmt Shell, and out of 168 results 13 of them has IDs that no O365 Groups were matched to. These 13 are all State = Active and Type=Group...

I am a little perplexed here. Any thoughts?

Hi @alisalih ,

According to my tests, if you delete the group in the O365 admin center, the problem will recur. The workspace will not be in the workspace list, but you could find it in the admin portal. This is to allow you time to get back the deleted group workspace.

Thanks for your input. Two things:

1- I checked the soft-deleted O365 Groups and there were zero.
2- If the O365 Group is deleted, wouldn’t the State = Deleting?
