I'm having issues using a streaming dataset at the same time as a database dataset. I enabled "DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS" in the "Preview options" menu. I then import data from our database using the odbc connector. On the power bi service I created a streaming dataset. Then I tried to import that dataset using the "power bi dataets" option, but I get this error.
Any ideas on what is going on and how I can get around this?
Hi @dk15 ,
I edited my reply on 6/1/2022.

Turn on the Historic data analysis option (off by default)
When Historic data analysis is enabled, the dataset created becomes both a streaming dataset and a push dataset.
The two are different in data storage, please refer to here for details.

Next connect to the dataset using desktop. Convert connection mode from Live connection to DirectQuery.
Then connect to the database and import the table. Create the model.
Hope this helps.

Again - I cannot confirm this as a solution. Historic analysis is enabled for my hybrid dataset but converting the connection to Direct Query keeps failing with the above mentioned error message.
In my experience you cannot combine a streaming dataset with other datasets.
