Using Premium after originally being a Pro trial user

Hi,

We've just converted to Power BI Premium, however some users have been using Power BI Pro trial version that they registered using our company email acct earlier.

Now the trial has ended they are notified after login to upgrade. If they click continue it simply takes them through the upgrade path. They are stuck in a loop!

It doesn't automatically allow them to use Power BI Premium and view the reports allocated to them which are assigned to workspaces which have been allocated to capacity.

Any idea how to resolve this issue.

Many thanks...

Thanks for the response.

We have about 20 pro licenses. These are allocated to people who are managing content or creating reports. The report creators are using Power BI Desktop.

All other staff - those poeple just viewing reports/dashboards are Power BI Premium users.

They are trying to view reports that have been allocated to workspaces that they have been invited to view. The workspaces have been allocated to use our Premium capacity displaying the diamond next to the workspace.

Surely these users should be able to view these reports and not get the upgrade to Pro notice?

Further to this.

In the folder "Shared with me" which contains reports shared to premium users, you can open these reports okay - no upgrade warning. Something isn't working as it should as regards permissions I think.

It look like the notication to upgrade when clicking on the Workspaces should happen.

Can you confirm and tell me what I need to do to get this sorted out please

thx

HI @Anonymous ,

These notice just means their pro trial license are expired, if they want to use pro features, they need to upgrade to pro license.

I think you are misunderstood premium license. Premium license not same as pro(per user).  It provide the specific capacity allow you to use to create workspace and move content to this capacity.

For contents dispatched in that capacity, workspace members can view/edit these contents without pro license.(workspace manage operations still require pro license)
