User's email address no longer visible when sharing reports, datasets

When sharing datasets and reports in the service, the user's email address is no longer visible. So, now users with the same name but different email addresses are no longer distinguishable so the user does not know which "user" he/she is sharing the resource with.

Please advise ASAP.

HI @dharland ,

I have discovered that there is a way to see the information.  If you do the following method you will see the email addresses.

When you click on share, click on the elipses and select Manage Permissions

THEN, select Grant People Access

Then enter the name in the grant access line and you will see the email addresses.

Hi @dharland ,

i am wondering if this is a browser related change or perhaps a security change?  Not necessarily in Power BI but in your settings elswhere?  Does this work on other browsers?  Or, has your IT Security folks changed something in the way that AD displays?

No this is the new sharing behavior in the PBI Service. Prior to this, AAD user email addresses also appeared but now they don't.

Hey @dharland ,

I am in agreement with @v-deddai1-msft that this is the new behavior.  I was unaware of this change and I was looking at something different than you were earlier in my responses.  That said, I think this is worty of creating an idea to get the email back so we can differentiate people with the same name - please create an idea and post here that you have done so and I will vote for it as well.  (Ideas (powerbi.com)

Hi @dharland ,

Yes, it is designed to show name only now. The workaround is to add suffixes to distinguish them.

Hey @dharland ,

Can you please provide screenshots?  Evidently I am looking at something else.
