Use direct query with on-premise gateway connection

Hi,

We are planning to use PB Embedded with A1/A2 capacity. However I need some clarity as I could not find clear answer of my question in any thread yet.

I know there is 5QPS limit with A1 cpacity but is this Direct query can also work with On-premises SQL Server? If No then what if we use Gateway then still we can't use On-premises SQL Server in Embedded flow?

Thank you.

Re: Use direct query with on-premise gateway connection

Thank you @v-jiascu-msft. I was expecting to get expert confirmation on direct query. Anyhow I have prepared environment and tested/confirmed it. (For other newbie) Answer for my question was :

We can use Diect Query or Periodic Schedular of datasets using Data Gateway with acceptable performance.

Hi @malikirfan28,

Could you please tell me where you got this information? Please also refer to understanding-the-power-bi-capacity-based-skus/ and power-bi-premium-pricing-model-good-bad-ugly/.

Best Regards,
