Use Write-back to update an Excel Table in BI?

Good day all!

We have an App that is being used for some of our larger events. It is a bit difficult to switch back and forth from the App to our Event software to check people in. Is there a way for us to use the write-back functionality in order to update a blank table in BI that can be combined/used in reporting attendance?

All of the write-back functionality I see is for writing back to the DB, which we defintely do not want to do.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there

You can create a Power App off your data that is stored in OneDrive.

You can then integrate the App directly into your Power BI Report, so you can update it within the Power BI Report. And based on your refresh settings also see the updated data in your Power BI Report.

Have a Google for Power Apps.

Hi @djrome13,

As of now, write-back functionality is not yet supported in Power BI.

GilbertQ,

Thank you for your help! That might help with what we are doing. I appreciate your reply and will check back as soon as we can find/test some things out. Thanks!

No worries. I have implemented it and it works really well.

Great to hear GilbertQ.  Did you run into any issues, such as record limits, etc. in Power Apps?

thanks,

The only thing I can think of is an Excel limit?

You could also write back to a database.
