Usage of Embedded Paginated Reports with Power BI dataset

Hi,

we want to embed a paginated report which is connected to a Power BI dataset, but we are receiving always the error message  "Unable to render paginated report. Please try rendering your report again."

Some details about the report
- Paginated report (built with Power BI Report Builder)
- Connected to a Power BI Dataset within the same workspace
- Contains only a "normal" table without any special items
- Works perfectly within Power BI Service
- Doesn't work embedded
- Power BI reports (not paginated) with the connection to the same datasource have no problems with embedding.
- Other paginated reports (with connection to SQL) are working with embedding.

Do you have any idea? Is there a limitation regarding embedd paginated reports?

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Have you follow the steps in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded/embed-paginated-reports-organization? Did you enable the paginated report workload on your dedicated capacity?

Hi @v-deddai1-msft ,

yes, all of the settings are set. I forgot one thing to say: We already have embedded paginated reports without problems. These reports are connected to a SQL database. The only difference is that I am using the Power BI dataset as datasource instead the SQL database.
The Power BI dataset itself contains a Direct Query to SQL database. For accessing the database, we are using a user with full rights.

Best regards,
Verena
