Hi
I have published a report to my workspace and the URL filter works fine
however, when I publish the EXACT SAME report to a shared workspace, the url parameter fails to work
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/63805a40-89ff-4fa4-8a2e-55055ef0903d/reports/[REPORTID]/ReportSection?filter=PubInfo%252FPHC%20eq%20%273408%27
Please advise

I've resolved the issue. The filter doesnt work with the link to the group workspace.
BUT if you retrieve the report from the "View Content List" on your app, then its a different URL, and the filter parameter works on this one!
Can I give myself Kudos?
hi
Yep, got this working. Steps I followed are below
1. Open app
2. Go to "View Content List" (top right - icon looks like bullet points)
3. Click on the report you want to filter. This will take you to the app published version of the report, and the URL should include the words APPS in the string (see below)
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/apps/xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx/reports/xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx/ReportSection
as opposed to the workspace version which wont have the app reference
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx//xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx/ReportSection
4. You can then add your URL parameters to this new URL as per below
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/apps/xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx/reports/xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx/ReportSection?filter=TableName/FieldName eq '12345'
Hope this helps

Hello, I have a situation where I need to send the filter values from Power BI report published on Power BI service to report builder as parameter values through URL. Do you have any idea on this? If yes, could you please help me out.
Hi @WCONGRAVE,
Based on my test. the URL query parameter also can work in group workspace. There are some limitation to use URL parameter, please take a look at this blog: Filter a report with a URL query string parameter.
In your scenario, please append the ?filter=<Table>/<Field> eq 'value' after the report URL, make sure field type needs to be string.

Thanks, but I cant get it to work.
I accidentally created 2 posts for this issue (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/URL-Filter-not-working-on-report-in-App-Workspace/idi-p/1911...) and there's 2 other users experiencing the same issue as me.
I'm pretty sure this was working prior to the 1st June, not sure if that change has anything to do with it...

Hi,
I also posted this to the Issue you linked to above, but wanted to be thorough.
The above solutions here link to the report within the workspace, which is only visible to members of that workspace. Is there a solution to set the link to the report within the actual app?
The people who have permissions to view content in my app are not members of the app workspace, so the links do not work for them.
Did you get any answers to this i cannot find a solution for an app?

Does this work with the published URL I am not having luck.
I do not have the premium service so I do not see content list.
This is a powerbi pro license and data on data server being accessed via direct query.
