Upload R script from R files

Hello everybody,

I can´t get data from files with extension RDATA (.RData) in Power BI. I already have properly installed the R Script and the IDEs, and I´m sure they are working well. But when I use the R script to load the R file > load ("C:/Users/Downloads/Myfile.RData"), Power Bi doesn´t show any elements but also any errors!. I know I may be missing something but I can´t see what it is, I am brand new with R files. In advance thank very much for your support!

Hi @CamilaQuintana ,

Based on my research, When preparing and running an R script in Power BI , there are a few limitations:

  • Only data frames are imported, so make sure the data you want to import to Power BI is represented in a data frame
  • Any R script that runs longer than 30 minutes times out
  • Interactive calls in the R script, such as waiting for user input, halts the script’s execution

Have you tried to run your script in Power BI Desktop ? How long about it will take when you run the script in your local R development environment ?

Thank you very much @v-lid-msft, now I can see what I am missing. It does not take much time to run the R files in RStudio. What I was missing is that the data is not in frames, so nothing was imported. Again, thank you.
