Hi all,
I'm interested in using the shared datasets across workspace feature, however I understand that all workspaces involved need to be the new version. I assumed there would be a way I could auto-upgrade my workspaces (without taking everything down and re-creating) since it was said this would be available soon after GA (which was in early April). It appears though this still isn't the case. Am I just missing something? And does anyone know if this feature is on the horizon at all? Thanks!!

I created a ticket last week with the question when we could expect the upgrade possibility, and got the following answer:
---
Unfortunately we do not have ETA as of now. I would request you to vote for an idea in the ideas forum below.
---
They also provided a Powershell script to copy workspace contents to another workspace, see link below. Unfortunately this is not a solution for me, because the script does not seem to copy dataflows.

Thanks I just voted for this! And I'll check out that PS script too...not ideal, but it might work for some of ours.
Hi @Nexter ,
From the document:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications-release-notes/april19/business-intelligence/p..., Now, we are enabling upgrade of existing classic workspaces to become new workspaces. Workspace and Power BI Admins will be able to opt in to upgrade their workspaces on demand.
At a later time, Power BI will require the upgrade of classic workspaces to the new workspace experience. This will not start until after all classic workspaces can be upgraded through opt-in.

Amy

Thanks Amy, but it doesn't actually say how to upgrade. I went through the admin panel/tenent settings, went through all of the workspace options...I just don't see anywhere to actually upgrade.

Has the release of "upgrade classic workspaces to the new workspace experience" been delayed?
Any info on this?
Hi @v-xicai ,
Do you have more information about when this feature is being released? It is scheduled for September but that deadline is getting real tight.
I understand that the timeline only a indication and that things can change.
I'm only doubting between waiting for the possibility of upgrading the workspace, or rebuilding one from scrap. And a indication would help me in this decision.
Thanks in advance!
Koen
