Upgrading to PPU: Is it all or nothing?

Hello,

If I publish BI reports via one license (currently on Pro) and upgrade that to Premium Per User (PPU) does that mean all of the other users that access my workspace have to upgrade their licenses as well to access the reports I publish? I would like to 100% confirm. Thank you!

Hey @BIBeginner1030 ,

when you upgrade the license of a user from Pro to PPU, nothing happens.

A user who has a PPU license assigned can migrate a workspace from Pro to PPU:

Now it's possible to use features that are only availabe with Premium Per Capacity /Premium Per User.

Content like reports, dashboards, etc that reside in a PPU workspace can only be accessed by users that have a PPU license assigned. This is also valid for an app containing content from a PPU workspace.

If you do not migrate an existing workspace nothing happens.

If you have a PPU license assigned, you still can publish a report to a Pro workspace.

Hopefully, this adds some clarity.

Regards,

Tom
