Hi! no. You can check the details of each role in here:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-roles-new-workspaces#workspace-...

Viewers can't even see the datasets or dataflows in order to run a refresh.

I hope that helps,

hI @lukmtb08 ,

In Power BI Service, the ability to refresh a dataflow in a workspace depends on the user's permissions and access to the dataflow. By default, users with the "Viewer" role in a workspace will not have the ability to refresh a dataflow. However, the workspace administrator can grant additional permissions to users with the "Viewer" role to allow them to refresh dataflows.

To grant a user with the "Viewer" role the ability to refresh dataflows in a workspace, follow these steps:

  • 1 Open Power BI Service and navigate to the workspace where the dataflow is located.
  • 2 Click on the "Settings" icon in the top-right corner of the workspace, then select "Workspace settings" from the menu.
  • 3 In the workspace settings, click on the "Dataflows" tab.
  • 4 In the "Dataflows" tab, you will see a list of dataflows in the workspace. Click on the dataflow that you want to grant access to.
  • 5 On the dataflow page, click on the "Security" tab.
  • 6 In the "Security" tab, you will see a list of users and their roles for the dataflow. To grant a user with the "Viewer" role the ability to refresh the dataflow, click on their name and then select "Refresh" from the drop-down menu.
  • 7 Once you've granted the user the ability to refresh the dataflow, save your changes and the user should now be able to refresh the dataflow from within the workspace.

Keep in mind that granting a user the ability to refresh a dataflow does not give them the ability to modify or delete the dataflow. They will only be able to refresh the dataflow and view the updated data.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry
