Update Azure Analysis Services connection in report

We have built many reports off of an Azure Analysis services instance and deployed these reports to our DEV environment.  We are now ready to begin moving them through to QA/PROD and I don't see an easy way to switch or paramaterize the server connection in the service.

In reports that we've built using datasets in PBI we can easily switch/change the connections based on parameter values that were created in the report.  Is there a similar method for AAS connections or do we need to open and manually switch the connections in all of our reports and publish them to the next environment?

Hi @rossnruthie ,

In Power BI Service, there are no other methods to switch/change the connection of data source except the parameter setting.

While you can post your new idea here https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas , to improve the Power BI.

It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

Best Regards,

Amy

Looks like that should indeed do it.  It's a shame that there is an API for this but nothing in the portal that would allow this.

Thanks!
