Unknow error when automatically refreshing cache

Hi,

This is our set-up:

- We have 2 SSAS-instances (DEV and LIVE)

- We have a few datasets in Power BI Service that each connect to a cube from one of these instances

- We have set up and configured a gateway to refresh the datasets

This set-up seems to work; when we refresh a report, we get new data.

But we've noticed that the datasets don't automatically refresh. We've configured in the settings from the datasets that a scheduled cache refresh should happen daily, but when we look at the refres history, we see that this refresh always fails.

When we try to refresh the dataset manually, we get the following error:

Something went wrong

Some more info:

-The gateway is running and all connections with the datasources are successfull.

-The cubes have processed and are available.

-We've tried changing the interval for the scheduled cache refresh, but this doesn't change anything.

Can someone help us to solve this issue?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Ward

Hi there

If I understand your question, in order for the reports to show the updated data, you have to interact or click on the refresh button to see the updated data.

The scheduled Cache refreshing is ONLY for the dashboard tiles. It does not apply to the reports.

Hi

Thank you for your respons. The input you gave is very valuable for sure.

But whether it is a report or a dashboard that needs to refresh, we still need the error to be fixed.

Kind regards,

Ward

Hi there

I would suggest logging a support ticket, this is something that I have not seen before and I do not experience in my own datasets connecting to SSAS
