Unable to combine data

Hi

I'm sure many of you have heard this many times before. My dataset refreshes in Power BI Desktop, but not in the Service.

[Unable to combine data] xxxxxxxxxxxxxx references other queries or steps, so it may not directly access a data source. Please rebuild this data combination

I've read quite a few posts on this topic already, but I can't seem to find a solution.

I've already enabled the "Ignore the Privacy Levels ..." option.

Here's the scenario:

- Two different endpoints

- The results of the endpoint A is needed as input for endpoint B

- Invoking a custom function to call endpoint B for each row in endpoint A

How am I supposed to split these queries into Staging queries when I need to perform some kind of iteration? This issue is really annoying, especially since you only find out after completing the work and publishing to the Service ...

If 'Privacy Settings' can not be your workaround, maybe you can try to use data flows.

Should I perhaps consider using a different tool to initiate the api calls?

I get the sense that Power BI isn't suited for this scenario
