Hi,
I have a gateway running on the same server as my data source. There are multiple datasets refreshed through this gateway with times staggered between 7am to 10am (with some refreshing at the same time).
The issue I have been having recently is that some of the datasets will refresh fine whilst others are failing with an error of "There is no gateway available". They all use the same source database and gateway connection.
Does anyone have any idea why this is occuring and how I can fix same please?
Thanks,
Vav
@Anonymous I would recommend you try to parse through the log files of the gateway, you can find them on the gateway machine here -> C:\Users\PBIEgwService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\On-premises Data Gateway\Gateway*.log
For other troubleshooting, this page is really good -> https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem-tshoot
I would also recommend updating your gateway to the latest if you are behind. This has a tendency to resolve issues as well.
Thanks for the reply @Seth_C_Bauer . I turned on Additional Logging when this issue began occuring but unfortunately since then the GatewayErrors log file has only one error in it which ironically is:
[DM.EnterpriseGateway] Error writing to the event log. Message: Started the 'PbiEgwService'.
