Hi,
I've scoured the message boards for an answer to this but cannot find one.... perhaps someone could assist ior point me in the right direction?
I have a report which has roles, security, permissions, and access defined - in this report I can navigate to the security section of the dataset and click the menu and select "test as role" then I can select within the blue bar I can test as a specific individual.
I have a report with no roles, however I would like to test it as a specific individual, to ensure that the permissions are allowing them to see the report and not allowing someone else. Is this possible? I cannot seem to get to the blue bar without the menu on the role.
Thanks in advance
Phil
Hi @Anonymous
If you have created roles with power bi desktop, then publish to service, you could go to "security" to make a test.
If you doesn't create roles with power bi desktop, then in power bi service, you can't go to "security" to make a test.
if you just need to see the permission to reports or datasets,
you could work with other methods.
click on the "share" button, go to "Access", you could see users name and their permission for that report.
Best Regards
Maggie

I do not believe that functionality exists, you cannot test as someone else specifically unless you have their password to login as them. To the best of my knowledge, there is no impersonation feature like what I believe you are asking about.
