Hello,
is it posible to test a role on connected raport in service. By default, role testing is run on a report created with the model. Can I change the report connected to the data model somehow?
HI @Lokisame,
AFAIK, RLS is a role-based row-level filter. You can change the assigned roles then users will view correspond contents filtered by the lastest role.
In addition, you can also consider configuring a dynamic RLS role based on the user name or other dynamic functions. (e.g. username, today...) They will extract the specific value based on the current user or system DateTime and apply the filter on it.
BTW, if your data source is AS tabular, you can also configure RLS filter on your database side:

Stay away from Username(), it behaves differently on the Desktop and the service. Always use UserPrincipalName().
So you are saying you have a workspace with a dataset and two reports that are based on the dataset. Now you want to test the dataset's RLS against the second report? Did I get that right?
Exactly
