Test as Role when there are multiple reports

Hi, if you have several reports built on top of a dataset, how do you choose which one comes up when you click on "Test as role" in the Service?  The documentation says that "You'll see reports that are available for this role," but that really doesn't happen.  Thanks!

Hi @asocorrocognex

What the documentation means is you can select a role to test with not the underlying reports.

Hi Gilbert, I am referring to here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls#validating-the-role-within-the-pow...

Where it says "You'll see reports that are available for this role."  I posted an issue with Microsoft about this.

Anyway, many reports may be built on top of a dataset with RLS.  I don't see where I can choose which report to test when using "Test as Role."

Cheers,

Adolfo

Hi, @asocorrocognex

Thank you to point it, I have the same result as yours.

Hi Gilbert, what I am referring to is this:

When you have multiple reports on top of the dataset, how do you choose which one to open and test?  The documentation says choices will be presented but I get no such choices.

Cheers,

Adolfo

Hi @asocorrocognex

I am not sure how you would test this for the actual reports. The only thing I can think of having a test account that you can assign to the RLS.

Then log in with this account to the different reports to complete the RLS validation?
