Tenant-to-tenant migration

All,

Do we have any toolsets yet that allows for migration of all Power BI assets from one tenant to another? I've looked at the copyWorkspace.ps1 script that is in Github, but it is for duplicating within a single tenant. I know in the past there has not been anything, but thought I'd check in.

Fyi, I'm ok with 3rd party recommendations, too, if there are any. Also, I'm not a PowerShell coder 🙂

@Anonymous - Last time this came up I believe it was concluded that this was mostly brutally manual. There is the Power BI REST API that you can at least use to download PBIX files.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my research, current you can only do migration operations between workspaces.

Duplicating workspaces by using Power BI cmdlets

You should know that tenant is a large range, not just power bi, if you want to migrate all resources to another tenant, there is no direct method to migrate Power BI service content to different tenant unless you download .pbix file from power bi service, re-publish them to a new tenant power bi service and re-configure gateways for them if needed.

About Microsoft 365 migration, perhaps you can refer this bolg:

Microsoft 365 Tenant to Tenant Migration

@Greg_Deckler I believe, unfortunately, that this is still the case. I was hoping someone could prove me wrong, though.
