Sync Slicer

How can I sync the slicers between 2 pages, where I'm filtering the values of slicer on one page using measure & on the other page, slicer should show all the values

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

@Anonymous Yeah, that is correct, I forgot, you can't use measures in page level filters. I don't think there is a solution then. Not any that I can think of.

@Anonymous , Under the view Tab in the desktop you have an option for Sync Slicer. Are you looking for that

@amitchandak I'm looking for a way to sync the filters, and change the values shown in the filter according to page. In one page I want to show all the values that are present in the field which is creating the slicer, whereas on the other page I want to show only those values whose which are satisfying the condition.

For example, my slicers are using [category] field which contains  values cat1, cat2, cat3, ..., cat10

I'm using this slicers on 2 pages, page1 & page2
On page1, I want to show all the values,
whereas for page2, I have a [measure]=if(selectedvalue([category]="cat1",1,if(selectedvalue([category]="cat2",1,0)). I want to show only those values on the slicer, for which [measure]=1,
and I don't want this measure to work on page1

@Anonymous
I know you've marked this as resolved, but I'm just brainstorming here. Is that measure you posted just an example?
[measure]=if(selectedvalue([category]="cat1",1,if(selectedvalue([category]="cat2",1,0))

Essentially, that measure would result in only ever showing 1 value in the slicer - the selected category and only if it's cat1 or cat2. So you could apply this as a page level filter using the [category] column instead, and just only show cat1 and cat2 on page 2. Is that what you mean? Then if cat3 is selected on Page1, Page2 will be blank and still show that Cat3 is selected, and allow you to deselect. Once you deselect Cat3, you must return to page1 to select it again.

@Anonymous I'm not sure what you desire is possible with sync slicers. What you want is kind of the opposite of sync slicers to a degree. But, have you tried a page level filter with your measure? On your 2nd page.

@Greg_Deckler I have tried to use measure on filter on this page section, but I am not able to do so, since when I'm trying to drag and drop measure on filter on this page section, the measure is not coming up in the filter. If it is possible to apply measure on filter on this page section,  then my issue will be resolved

Not sure how you mean? If you select something on page 2 that is not shown in the slicer on page 1 because it's filtered out by the measure on page 1, what should happen?

Sync slicers can be done using the sync slicers pane, just not sure what behaviour you want/expect if one of them has fewer values than the other.
