Hello,
I have an embedded report in my dev workspace. I want to promote the changes I made in dev to production.
To promote, I saved copy of the dev report and updated all my database links to point to my production db server.
Production already has a report guid that our website calls (the version to be replaced), but I need it to now call the report I just promoted.
Is there a way to replace the report so production calls the same report guid, but have that point to the new report I just promoted? I am trying to avoid having to get a new guid each time I upload a newer version of our report and then updating our app.config files with these new ids. Thanks!
Hi @sirwittles ,
The first time you publish I think the guid will be new and you can't force it to be something else. However, everytime you publish it should keep the same URL and Guid so you shouldn't have to reset it with each publish. (That is the normal behaviour anyway, but there is another thread where somebody is getting a unique URL each time when they overwrite and they have opened a ticket with Microsoft about it.)
