Support for billion of rows in Power BI

Hello Team,

I have a database in Azure table storage that has 1.5 billion of rows and I want to built several reports and dashboards out of that data. My questions are as follows.

  1. Does Power BI support huge datasets? If so, what is the best practice to set up dataset
  2. While importing huge datasets, do we have to use import mode or direct query? For a sample purpose, I was able to import huge database that had 10 millions records nto P-BI which took 1 hour (which btw is not an ideal story)
  3.  Say if Power BI supports huge records, how to maintain performance of the reports?

P.S.  I have found one article that says P-BI supports 1 trillion of rows and a video that showcases the huge count but not sure how it would work if importing 10 mill of records took 1 hour.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my research, Power BI could support huge dataset, but I suggest you ues direct query or live connection considering performence, you could refer to below blog:
