Support for R packages egcm and diagram

Hello,

I would like to request two R packages to be supported in R service:

egcm : https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/egcm/index.html

diagram : https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/diagram/index.html

Both are available in CRAN as seen above and have open-source licenses GPL-2 and GPL-3.

Would this be possible? It would be a great help for our projects, so I kindly want to ask how long it would take to implement this.

Thank you and best regards

Hi mjoanna,

Seems like this issue is more related to R packages and R script. I would suggest you to post your issue to R forumn to achieve more help.

Hi Jimmy,

yes, I think it is a R package problem. It is not possible to show the R visualization. Here is the message I get:

Missing R Package
Package 'egcm' is currently unavailable
Please try again later or contact support.

In the list of supported R packages in PBI Service egcm is not listed. (https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/power-bi/service-r-packages-support)

In PBI Desktop it is working fine, so again: Is it possible to add egcm (and diagram for a second project) to the supported R packages in PBI Service?

Best regards
mjoanna.

@Anonymous,

Please check if the 'egcm' package meets conditions below:

For security and privacy reasons, R packages are not supported that provide client-server queries through the World Wide Web in the service (eg, RgoogleMaps). Networks are blocked during such attempts. The following section contains a list of supported and unsupported R packages.

The approval process for including a new R package involves a number of dependencies. Some dependencies that need to be installed in the service can not be supported.

Regards,

Jimmy Tao
