Subscribe to report shared outside of organization

Hi,

We've shared a report with a user outside of our organization.  The user can log into Power BI and see the report fine, but there is no option to create a subscription to the report.  Users inside of our organization can create a subscription without any issues.  Is this expected behavior?

Thanks!

Hi @AUaero ,

That's an expected behavior.

When we share a report with a user outside of organization, the user visits this report by Azure B2B as a Gugest role.

As a guest, he has no access to edit this report so that he cannot create a Subscription to others.

Please note:

  1. You must have edit permissions to create one for someone else.
  2. Creating a subscription for yourself requires a certain type of license. If you are unable to create a subscription, contact your Power BI administrator.
  3. Subscribing others is only available to the dashboard or report owner.

For more limitations of Subscription, you can refer these microsoft doucument:

  1. Subscribe-considerations-and-troubleshooting
  2. Subscribe to a report or dashboard in the Power BI service

Best Regards,
Yingjie Li
