Static Text Box not showing on published report (in apps - workspace)

Hi all,

In my PBI report, I have a static text box on top of the report. This text box (with colored background) is showing in Desktop mode, showing in "Standalone report" mode (1) but not showing in "in Apps" mode (2).

Could you advise what setting needed to show that text box in "in Apps" (2) mode ?

By the way, what is the correct name to call the report in mode (1) and mode (2) ?

Thank you,

M

Hi @madrid

Based on my test, I cannot reproduce your scenario, would you please take the following steps to check whether the issue could be solved:

1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies and try again.

2. Please unpublished your app and republish it again.

Until the problem is solved, as a workaround:

You can use Card visual on Power BI desktop instead and try to create a Measure like this: Measure = "Text content you want to display".

Then put this measure into Card visual, turn off category label in the visual formatting, and you will get a graphic like the one shown below.

You can resize it to your satisfaction in the report and place it in the right place.

In addition, under mode 1 (Report in workspace) and mode 2 (Report in App), reports do not have additional special names, they are still called reports.

Hope it helps,

Caitlyn Yan

Finally I figured out the reason: After click on Publish from Power BI desktop, I need to go to PBI services (web) to click "Update App" in order to update the visualalization (if not, only data is updated but not the visual).
